PEPO Paradise is a cross-chain Petaverse with a unique “FEED-TO-EARN” mechanic on Avalanche. Anyone can breed and own cute pets(PEPOs) that live on the blockchain. These pets drop Tokens and various kinds of NFT rewards occasionally for the owners to earn and trade on the platform marketplace.

Q:Introduction of Chris and Pepo Paradise

A:I am Chris the Founder and Director of FINIFUGU Games, the team behind PEPO Paradise.

Finifugu is an award-winning games studio featured on Google Play Store and Apple App Store globally in more than 150 countries in Best New Game, Game of the Day, Editor’s Choice, etc.

The team consists of 15 full-time members distributed in different locations globally, including Hong Kong, London, Italy, Thailand, and Taiwan.

PEPO Paradise is visioned to be the gateway between NFT brands and Metaverses by providing another layer of value to NFTs via GameFi, with our very unique Feed and Earn mechanism, and become the ultimate pet service protocol in web3.

The team has already confirmed a long-term partnership with 14 high-profile Ethereum NFT brands such as Cyberkongz, PGodjira, Karafuru, Kaiju Kingz, and Wonderpals. By creating 3D models for these projects, PEPO Paradise enables the holders of these NFT projects to raise them as Metaverse pets and earn yield and connect them to various gameplays and contents.

Q:What is the difference between Genesis cheeks and partner roles, and what additional empowerment will Genesis cheeks have?

A:Cheeks NFT is a limited collection incubated under PEPO Paradise with additional privileges in the game compared to the partner NFTs. Including incentive programs on Feed-To-Earn reward with governance token exclusive to the Cheeks NFT, and early access to the game.

The incentive programs are associated with the growth of the PEPO ecosystem, so if you are interested in supporting PEPO Paradise and want to share the success with us, holding a Cheeks NFT is the best choice.

Q:In the current bear market, after the low earning effect, people’s motivation will also be reduced, the team has done anything to attract more players?

A:We target two main types of audiences: web3 native users & NFT investors and non-web3 audiences interested in NFTs / games (especially casual games).

Let me talk about the web3 side first.

For web3 native users & NFT investors, we focus on partnerships and collaborations with web3 brands to reach and convert these audiences to be our users.

1. We have a significant advantage over other projects in establishing long-term partnerships with NFT brands/collections by providing utilities to their holders. Currently, some of our noticeable partners are on the Ethereum chain, including brands like “CyberKongz”, “Karafuru”, “Project Godjira”, etc., with an audience base of over 3m followings across social media platforms. These audiences are highly convertible as they are already familiar with web3, NFT, and the concept of metaverses. We will also expand our partnerships to other chains like Solana, Polygon, BNB chain, Avalanche, etc., to cover audiences from different ecosystems. Our cross-chain backend allows us to bring all these NFTs into the same place.

2. Being a project on Avalanche and as one of the winners at the AVAX Asia Hackathon 2022, we have developed close relationships within the AVAX ecosystem. We partnered with some noticeable NFT marketplaces to gain exposure and build our AVAX userbase in the future. These partners are to be announced soon.

3. Web3 press and media. We have connected with numerous press and media entities for paid marketing, targeting web3 native audiences, and building awareness for our key events, vision, and product.

For non-web3 audiences interested in NFTs / games, especially casual games, we plan to leverage our existing mobile titles and our connection in the web2 gaming scene to grow the ecosystem.

1. We have award-winning mobile gaming titles with over 3 million users to be converted, including “Otter Ocean”, “Me is King”, “Too Many Cooks”, etc. These games have a similar aesthetic style/theme and gameplay to PEPO Paradise, expanding at a rate of over 100k new users per month. We plan to onboard these IPs we developed and other existing web2 brands / IPs to the PEPO ecosystem.

2. Another significant advantage for us to convert non-web3 audiences is our compatibility in collaborating and integrating existing gaming titles. We are developing an SDK for popular game development engines. Traditional game developers can utilize our PEPO infrastructure to access popular NFT brands in the PEPO ecosystem for high-quality traffic for their games and participate in our ecosystem. And since we were originally from the web2 mobile gaming scene, we have extensive connections with different game studios that are open to collaborations and long-term partnerships, which can further facilitate our ecosystem growth.

3. Most importantly, with our experience in game development, we are confident in producing high-quality game content that encourages user-generated content and promotes community building and sharing with social gameplay. Likely to generate a viral marketing effect for exponential growth.

Ye thats about it for our marketing side and targeting potential users.

Q:Why did you choose to delay the coin release? If you delayed the coin issue, did pepo paradise’s game never have a profitable effect till the IDO?

A:As we all know, the current market is not in the best sentiment right now.

Delaying the coin release is probably the best at the moment so we are not rushing things and can focus more on the development of the project to increase the quantity and quality of the gaming features before the official launch.

Additionally, having the coin release at a better market sentiment can also increase our reach and achieve better growth in our userbase, and provide more and better incentive programs to attract more users and capital to support our ecosystem.

The PEPO game is in its closed beta at the moment, and the earning side with game economy willbe available until Open Beta, which we estimate to be around the end of Q3 / Q4.

Q:We all know you have a lot of partners, but their communities don’t necessarily like your projects, so what are your solutions if they come over and simply dig to sell?

A:Our tokenomics does not work as simply as a dig and sell mechanism, the best reward is only available to long-term users who feed and take care of their virtual pets.

The team is also building infrastructure so that these NFTs can be rented out for other players to use, so even if the NFT holders do not like the game, there are still utility and earnings.

We are also confident in converting NFT holders into our game users, with our extensive experience in creating mobile games in the past.

The gameplay is very casual and easy to onboard, so even if you are not a hardcore gamer, you are welcome to join and try it out!!

Q:I noticed that some computers will be very laggy when running your close beta version, even with a very good CPU, what are your configuration requirements?

A:Right now we are pushing the boundaries on performance within the closed beta, that is why is it a closed beta and we are getting analytics, feedback, and bug reports from our players to improve the game.

We are continuing the optimization to allow even low-end computers to play the game smoothly.

In fact, right after 2 days of our closed beta launch, we have already updated the game with a lot of improvements that allow players to build even bigger islands with a lot more structures!

Q:What is your expectation of the payback period for players in terms of days? How many users do you think you can have?

A:Our feed-to-earn reward is dynamic according to the reward pool and the user count. So it is very hard to say. The economy is not designed as simply as other P2E / Ponzi tokenomics, so we are also very excited to see how it performs.

Not to mention that it is a mixture between NFT rewards and token rewards, and we have the mechanism to encourage users to spend & reinvest in the ecosystem instead of simply coming for the yield.

We have run some simulations on the economy and so far the numbers are looking promising.

Q:Now that everyone is saying P2E is Ponzi, do you have anything special to open up about Ponzi’s dilemma?

A:Well, high payback period might be too good to be true and comes with high risk!

I think a lot of people starting to realize that tokenomics is very important and it is unhealthy to have the Earning feature be the core of the game. Players are more careful now and try to not step into the next 1000% APR game, or step in early only. That’s why you see a lot of those games gain a lot of attention in the beginning and die off very very quickly

In PEPO Paradise we are focusing more on Play and Earn instead of P2E, and put more attention into making games that are more FUN to play, and with a sustainable economy and tight community

In comparison to other NFT projects, we have a well-crafted game economy to support the utility and inflationary factors of our game tokens. We have run tests and simulations on the supply and burn rate of the in-game tokens to ensure that we can sustain the game token economy long term.

Most of the in-game actions require a small service fee to compensate for the rewards of the feed-to-earn system, instead of purely relying on a Ponzi scheme to subsidize old players’ earnings from new players’ funds. Additionally, we offload some of the inflationary factors onto other NFT items in-game to prevent token inflation. And encourage players to earn over other players’ demands of in-game items.

We also have a dynamic system which a dynamic token burning mechanism, to stabilize the secondary market and game economy, reduce the barrier of entry, maximize project growth and reduce token price fluctuations.

Q:What is the governance plan of Pepo Paradise? What do you think is the difference between Token and NFT as governance credentials?

We have the project token $PPP as the governance token.

Our plan is that if you hold a Cheek NFT, it will generate governance tokens over time through the additional incentive program on the feed-to-earn reward.

Additionally, engaged players who participate in our events or rank high on leaderboards may get $PPP tokens as a reward. Because we want to encourage and reward our most loyal supporters. One example is that in our current closed beta events, we are giving out some $PPP governance tokens to the winners.

Regarding your question about the difference between Token and NFTs as governance credentials,

fundamentally, the difference between them is fungibility. So I expect to see future projects utilizing NFTs more creatively as a governance credential in the future, including upgradable NFTs by certain qualifications or gamification on metadata, etc., instead simply quantifying it.

An example would be categorizing governance power through experience and participation in certain areas of the project so that DAOs can be broken down into sub-Daos, to ensure decision-making is both decentralized, and professional, while maintaining agile.

Q:The entertainment value seem to drop of very fast once you are done building island.what features will be added to allow more continual gaming experience?

A:There will be a lot more features coming soon in the open beta, including farming, crafting, feed-to-earn, social features, mini-games and more.

The island building side is just one of the features, and we are implementing progressions on PEPO raising and Island upgrades etc. Which will affect PEPO’s performance in various mini games. Additionally there will be regular events which gives out exclusive NFT items for the players to participate and collect.

Q:Most GameFi projects cannot maintain than 1 year, I know some of them start to focus on ecosystem fund or other things when their games died. What is your idea about the current situation for GameFi projects?

A lot of the GameFi projects are still functioning like web2 games with a very enclosed gaming ecosystem and an additional layer of X-To-Earn supported by a dual token system with Ponzi tokenomics. That’s why they attracted a lot of short-term investors with fluctuating token prices affecting actual players’ gaming experience.

In comparison, PEPO has a dynamic burning mechanism to prevent hyper-growth from affecting user experience, along with the vision of a truly interoperable virtual pets platform open to collaborations, partnerships, and user-generated content, to encourage natural ecosystem growth.

My opinion about the current situation for GameFi projects is that we should be open to allowing cross-game, cross-brand, cross-IP virtual items possibilities. So everyone can be a builder and expand the whole ecosystem, forming a decentralized economy between metaverses and games.

Q:If I have a NFT project, how can I join Pepo family?

Please open a ticket at our discord channel! Right now we have limited spot in partnerships and we tend to communicate to the core team and check whether their vision aligns with us

we want to ensure that the partners that are working with us can survive this bear market and continue expanding their brand!

In the future, we plan to open up the NFT collection partnership side so all collection can join, by providing their own 3d models and animations.

If you are running a gaming project, feel free to contact us as well, we can help by bringing all our partnered NFT brands into your game, with our PEPO infrastructure.

PEPO Paradise is not just a game, but also a gateway between NFT brands and metaverses.
