  1. Welcome Echo Guo! Could you please introduce yourself and the MetaDojo team to our community?

Thank you very much for the warm welcome! Hello everyone. My name is Echo Guo. I am CEO & Co-Founder of MetaDojo. A proud Chinese-Kiwi, meaning I’m originally from China but have lived in New Zealand for over two decades. I have a 10 month old fur baby named Meta.

I have a Masters Degree in Marketing with first class honors and I spent the early years of my career working for a global market consulting company specialized in the FMCG sector. After that, I had broad experience in a variety of areas such as personal coaching, international trading, real estate development, and started a beverage brand back in 2017.

MetaDojo was registered in Singapore in July 2021, with the mission to contribute to the transformation of the internet economy and social interactions from Web2 to Web3. Presently, most of our core team members are based in New Zealand.

Our vision is

  • To provide affordable and ready-to-use solutions for scalable metaverse land development.
  • To empower metaverse landowners with tools of MetaFi utilization.
  • To assist Web 3.0 mass adoption by offering website-integratable 3D virtual worlds to individuals, businesses and organizations.

2. Awesome, that’s a great journey! Now we are interested in the product you are building. What is MetaDojo and what problems your team is determined to solve?

Sounds good. Let’s start by looking at some of the problems we have on hand.

Firstly, virtual economy.

Almost all metaverse projects have centered their virtual economy model on land ownership. A plot of land in the Sandbox was sold for a record high price of $4.3 million USD in November 2021. On the other hand, our initial market research indicates that mainstream virtual real estate owners lack clear development plans and options for their lands. They do not possess resources professional digital land developers such as waht Republic Realm does, nor do they have the guaranteed traffic that celebrities, opinion leaders and bigger corporations enjoy.

MetaDojo aims to deliver purposely-built 3D spaces equipped with In-Dojo Economy to help metaverse landowners to monetize their virtual real estate, increase the value of their digital assets and strengthen the communities they belong to.

Secondly, socialization.

Despite being one of the fundamental characteristics of the metaverse, socialization is not a stronghold of most metaverse networks to date. Taking the leading metaverse world Decentraland as an example, hosting events with over 100 attendees has proven to be challenging.

We believe our Dojos provide the perfect place for metaverse socialization because being present in the same virtual space, the visitors naturally share things in common for example acquaintances of the Dojo owner, followers of the same celebrity, customers of the business, members of the same community, etc. Therefore, the MetaDojo team endeavors to develop tools to help facilitate socialization and virtual friendship.

Last but not least — the gaps between Web2 and Web3

Given how many years it has taken businesses to transform to be cloud-based and digitized, few will argue that the Web3 adoption curve is going to be long-tailed. One of the biggest challenges businesses will need to manage would be that while Generation Z is ready to jump in, most of their older customers may remain ignorant or even skeptical toward crypto currencies for quite some time. To speed up the mass adoption of the metaverse, our team recognizes the importance of having an interim solution that links a brand new world with the more familiar Web2 platforms such as websites and online stores. For instance, non-crypto customers can taste the enticing elements of the metaverse such as 3-dimensional animation, avatars, and social interactions, but can be redirected back to the Web2 eCommerce platform when it comes to making payments.

3. Very cool stuff! As a common user in the crypto space, what’s the entry requirement of MetaDojo metaverse and what role can I play in it?

That’s a great question! Let me show you our ecosystem and explain the 3 different roles one by one.

Dojos are 3-dimensional premises built in the form of NFT and are compatible with the ERC-721 standards, thus can also be stored and sold peer-to-peer on platforms outside the MetaDojo ecosystem. In addition to providing a virtual space with functional interior and exterior, our Dojos come with built-in mechanisms that facilitate Play-to-Earn (P2E), Play-to-Learn (P2L), and socialization. Through these, Dojo owners and visitors alike can benefit and monetize from their investment in the metaverse, whether it’s financial, time or energy. We have labeled these economic activities “In-Dojo Economy”, more details will be revealed as development unfolds.

Second part of this diagram is Dojo Owners. Apart from placing them on metaverse lands, users will also be able to integrate Dojos they bought to Web2 platforms such as websites. We believe this will help bridging the gap and clear some blocks particularly for smaller businesses, so the benefits of the metaverse can be accessed and enjoyed by them as well.

In line with the Dojos, we have given the term ‘Ninjas’ to the players. Different from most GameFi-focused platforms, Ninjas in the MetaDojo ecosystem can be Dojo visitors, community members, and game players. They are the primary users of the Dojos and their gaming aspects.

Creators are significant contributors to the MetaDojo ecosystem, by bringing their valuable skills and experience to the ecosystem in the form of enlisting their professional services and/or NFTs in the marketplace. Dojo owners and Ninjas make purchases from them in order to enhance their own in-game experience (e.g. buying a designer Avatar), to enhance the in-game experience of, or value generated from, their Dojo visitors (e.g. installing a mini-game to help make product A/B testing more fun; engaging with a virtual event expert to plan next product release), or to enhance the value of their Dojo (e.g. adding a pet to your Dojo to make it feel more homely). We also believe the Creators will be a significant force when it comes to mass adoption of the metaverse as they see financial gains, recognition, and career advancement in the metaverse.

4. I believe many NFT and metaverse projects are interested in working with MetaDojo. I’m wondering what’s the process to collaborate with MetaDojo to build an innovative Metaverse?

As some of you may know, Bit.Country is the leading metaverse project in the Polkadot ecosystem. Their own blockchain Mateverse Network is live on Kusama and they are launching their first metaverse world Kaosland very soon.

We chose them to be our first metaverse partner for two reasons. Firstly, they are a leading open metaverse protocol with over 25k landowners who are low hanging fruit for us. Secondly, the MetaDojo co-founders are closely connected with the Bit.Country founding team. As a matter of fact, we share the same office in Auckland!

MetaDojo aims to be multi-chain, meaning we are actively looking for other major metaverse players to build partnerships with. Our strong seed investors are giving us great support on that front.

We are also in active discussions with other metaverse infrastructure-building projects such as ones that focus on music and wearables. We will need them to complete the in-game experience of our Dojos. I welcome any credible recommendations from our community.

5. I heard that MetaDojo’s virtual HQ just opened! Could you talk more about it and the ongoing campaign you are hosting?

Yes, we are very excited about this epic event and hope everyone here will join us! Before selling our Dojos to the users, it makes sense for us to start with one for ourselves doesn’t it? 6.Are there any competitors in the current market? What features or advantages does MetaDojo have to make sure it stands out?

I am sure there are competitors out there or will be soon. Actually, I don’t believe we should consider ourselves a successful project unless there are others who think it’s a good idea and try to do something similar. However, to date, given the infancy stage we are at with the Metaverse, I haven’t come across another project that shares the same vision as MetaDojo. Allow me to walk you through our unique value propositions.

  • Ready-to-use for all open metaverse networks

One of MetaDojo’s primary goals is to collaborate with all open metaverse protocols, to give their landowners an economical way to jumpstart their MetaFi journey by monetizing their virtual real estate, increasing the value of their digital assets, and strengthening the communities they belong to.

  • Web 2.0 integration to accelerate metaverse mass adoption

We want to bring the metaverse to all individuals, businesses, and organizations. If you currently own an online presence, whether it’s in the form of a website, an online store, or a social media account, our Dojos allow you to enjoy the new dimension of Web 3.0 without the upfront costs and technical skills related to metaverse land acquisition.

  • Job opportunities through the Creator Economy

The metaverse belongs to digital native creators! Our dream is to facilitate an open and inclusive ecosystem where community members not only enjoy visiting but also can make a living from it, so they become true residents of the metaverse.

7. Could you briefly talk about your roadmap? What major milestones have you already achieved and what’s the next plan in the upcoming years?

Sure. We started the recruitment process late last year at the same time of undergoing fundraising, which gave us a head start in 2022 with the majority of team members starting by the end January.

There are three areas of high significance for us right now. First of all, we aim to have a collection of 30+ Dojos ready for our partner metaverse protocol Bit.Country by the end of Quarter 2. Our design team is well on track with this goal. Here is a teaser video showcasing some of the Dojos built.

The second important avenue of development is in-game experience and the user portal. Our team is doing lots of research and working closely with Bit.Country to ensure a seamless integration and great user experience for our Dojo owners as well as their visitors. We will have something ready to share with our community very soon.

Last but not least, a constant focus for us is our community. We ran two NFT competitions in December last year and the past February. Our Twitter followers grew from merely 800 to over 25K. We have some exciting prizes and events in the pipeline for the coming months, so make sure you join our Discord and/or Telegram channels to stay informed!

On the token side, we have a public presale planned for Quarter 2 before our TGE with a target of June 2022. This will be followed by product launch and exchange listing in Quarter 3.

  1. Hi everyone,I really liked the Metadojo app. Congratulations. My question is, in which aspects will Metadojo differ from metaverse projects such as decentraland, sandbox, cryptovoxels and somnium space? Also, what kind of a way to follow in web3 and dao issues is being considered.

First of all, thank you for your support! We are different to other Metaverse protocols as we provide our services as add-ons to the existing metaverse worlds. If they are the creators of the universe, we are the city and building builders.

Secondly, we are uinque because of our Web 2 solutions. Our Dojos can not only be displayed in virtual lands, but also integratable with your websites, your Facebook page, your Instagram account etc. It adds a new dimension to your exisiting web2 platforms.

2. One of your services caught my eye because it’s called customizable NFT buildings, can you tell us more about it? How does this feature work? How can this feature help users, especially those new users with little experience on the space to not end up in undesirable situations?

You have paid attention to our info, well done! First of all, you will be able to select a Dojo that you like from a wealth of options.

Secondly, there are other accessories that you can purchase to make them uniquely yours such as plants, animals, water features, interior furnitures etc etc

Thirdly, in your control panel, you will be able to further customize your own space by adding contents to it. For example, display NFT, photos, videos, your own artwork…

Our job is to make the user centre very user-friendly so no technical skills are required to play around and build the perfectly unique Dojo of your own!

3. Is there any web2 company you have helped or plan to help them to step in web3?

I love your question because that is exactly what I have been busy with lately.

Our team have developed a metaverse store for an investor of ours. Once finished, not only all their products can be displayed in the Dojo, when you choose to view more info on one item, it will take you back to their normal e-commerce store for transcation and payment.

This way, they can capture the younger market with the Web 3 elements while maintaining the useful tools of Web 2 platforms that will take years for Web 3 companies to fully take over.

Imagaine how many Dojos we can sell by equipping every single website in the world with their own metaverse portal!
